We're Not the "DMV"
Although we provide services that are often associated with a “DMV,” you’ll quickly see from your interactions with our office that we’re not the DMV. As constitutionally elected officers, Florida Tax Collectors work to serve each Florida community by partnering with multiple state and local agencies, bringing a wide variety of services to our neighbors here in Manatee County. We serve tens of thousands of Manatee County residents each year, protecting and supporting your most treasured possessions. From a teenager’s first driver license to your home, vehicle, fishing licenses, and more… we have the privilege of supporting our community through the biggest milestones of their lives.
Meet your Tax Collector
Honorable Ken Burton, Jr.
Elected in 1992, Ken Burton Jr. has maintained a high standard of customer service, efficiency, and innovation for eight subsequent and unopposed elections. A Manatee County native and 1980 Palmetto High School graduate, Ken also attended Carson Newman University in Tennessee, earning his B.S. in business with a major in management and information technology. He is proud to lead the organization in serving his community with excellence, integrity, and respect.
