Tim Gilbreath is the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the Quarter

Bradenton - The Manatee County Tax Collector’s office is proud to honor Tim Gilbreath, the office’s Multimedia Manager, as the Employee of the Quarter for the 3rd quarter of 2024. Tim began his career with the Tax Collector’s office in 2009 and has exemplified the office’s vision of “Innovating Better Ways to Serve” in every aspect of his work.

A founding member of the Communications & Employee Experience (EX) Department, Tim has been instrumental in transforming how the Tax Collector’s office interacts with both its employees and the community. His expertise in web design, user experience (UX), photography, and videography has led to the development of numerous modern and user-friendly platforms, ensuring customers and team members can easily access the information they need for successful interactions with the office.

“The message doesn’t change, but the methods do,” said Ken Burton Jr., who has consistently championed innovation and modern technology in his role serving as Tax Collector. “Tim has been instrumental in developing technology to innovate new ways to get the message out. His contributions have not only upgraded how we’re doing things, but also significantly improved the experiences of both our staff and the community we serve. We’re proud to recognize him with this award.”

In a recent project, Tim played a lead role in designing a new internal communication platform that spiked the engagement rate among the office’s team members to nearly 94%, a testament to the platform’s effectiveness in fostering a connected and informed workforce. The platform is used for communicating important announcements, policy updates, employee benefits, forms, team recognitions, and much more. It can also be downloaded as an app, unlocking access to office-related content for employees when they’re on the go.

“I’m so proud of Tim’s accomplishments and his teamwork with all of our departments to bring these innovations to life,” said Mandie Ferguson, Director of Communications and EX. “Our vision is to innovate better ways to serve, and for our department, that means a better experience when it comes to communicating and accessing information. Tim is such a valuable partner to have on the journey of modernizing interactions with our office. He's played a vital role in revolutionizing both the employee and customer experience with the implementation of our intranet and, most recently, a new Customer Help Center on taxcollector.com.”

The Tax Collector’s new Help Center, which went live on July 12, was designed as a mobile-first platform for customers to access the information they need from anywhere. A native search feature helps easily deliver information on services, FAQs, embedded video tutorials, and more into the hands of Manatee County residents, and allows the Tax Collector’s Office to identify content that is most relevant to their customers. This is the first phase of a full redevelopment of the office’s website, taxcollector.com, set for release in Fall of 2024.

“We’re walking our neighbors through some of the biggest milestones of their lives,” said Burton. “We have to anticipate what our customers need and keep our team connected along the way to deliver services that are truly valuable. Tim receiving this award is a testament to his dedication of helping the office remain future focused, and we’re happy to have him on the team.”

Tim represents the Office's core values of customer focus, innovation, future focus, integrity and respect, teamwork, excellence and accountability, and community and social responsibility. He receives an Employee of the Quarter trophy, a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a themed casual day, and a bonus vacation day.
