Out-of-State Driver License/ID Transfers

Driver License and ID Cards

Processing options:

To transfer your driver license or ID card to Florida from another U.S. state or territory (such as Puerto Rico or Guam), the U.S. Federal Real ID Act requires everyone to present the necessary documents when obtaining a Florida driver's license or ID card for the first time. This requirement applies even if your out-of-state driver license or ID card is Real ID compliant or if you previously held a driver license or ID card in Florida.

Visit our Help Center for additional information and full details on transaction requirements:

Commercial Driver License (CDL) transfers from out-of-state are available only at our Driver License Branch - our other locations do not provide CDL services. For more information about CDL transactions, please visit our CDL Service Page for more information.
